Help BCS live long and prosper!
Put the date for "Techies and Trekkies" on your calendar and donate and/or sponsor where possible. It's not 'logical' not to lend your support! Here's how you can help:
Donate, Donate, Donate!
The more goods and/or services we have to auction, the more money we can raise for our school and our children. There are a multitude of items that would be of interest, from little to big. Here are some ideas:
- Use of a vacation home
- Frequent flyer miles
- A day sailing on the bay or other outings
- Unique experiences
- Sports related experiences or items
- Wine or dining
- Kid-related items
- Art work
- Various services
If you have something that doesn’t fit in one of these categories, don’t be shy! Remember, all donations are tax deductible! For more information please contact Alisa Ferrell at alisaleef@yahoo.com. Click here for the online Donation Form or stop by the BCS office to pick one up.
Host an event or party
Build community, raise money for BCS, and have fun all at the same time! There are lots of ways to host an event and make a difference for our kids, find one that works for you:
- Subscription Parties - Subscription parties typically have a theme, for example, Margarita Madness or The Father Daughter Dance. They can be co-hosted by a group of friends or families, making them lots of fun and great community builders. To find out more about hosting a subscription party, or to sign up, please contact Kim Monsalve at kmonsalve@me.com.
- Class/Grade level parties – Class/Grade level parties are new this year! They are parties designed to include, for example, all of the girls in a given class or grade, or a whole class or grade level. The hope is to have a tableau of parties such that each child could hopefully attend at least one. Ideas could be a second grade tea party for girls, a bar-b-que for the fourth graders, a pool party for the fifth grade boys, and so on… Questions, or to sign up to host, please contact Suzi Berry at suzer@sbcglobal.net.
- Teacher and Staff events - Teachers and staff can get involved by providing gifts of time or service. In the past, there have been no shortage of great ideas – outings with the teachers or events in the classroom such as pizza and movie night are always a big hit. For more information, or to sign up, please contact Jennifer Cheng at jennifermcheng@sbcglobal.net.
Work on Class Creations
The class creations are a special component of the auction every year. Spearheading the class creation project is a great opportunity to exercise your creativity, work with the kids, and support BCS. Examples of projects include mosaic tables, kid-painted umbrellas, to multimedia projects. For questions, or more information, please contact Annette Wagner at anet@annettewagnerart.com.
Assist with Ads and Sponsorships
Want to place an Ad in the Auction catalog, or know someone who does? Perhaps your landscaper, realtor, dentist, mechanic, cleaner, pet sitter, mortgage broker, financial consultant, accountant, computer services professional, or personal trainer, or someone else you know would be interested? Or you may have close connections to a larger company that may be willing to do a sponsorship? In either case, if you have questions please contact Kerry Lindell at drlindell@lindellchiropractic.com. Forms available in the office.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Working on the auction can be lots of fun and we are always in need of volunteers! If you would like to help out please contact Karen Cleage at karencleage@gmail.com or Angie Rumi at angelarumi@yahoo.com.
